PRODUCT FEATURES
This 10,000 BTU Vent Free Infrared wall heater is perfect for rooms of 300 square feet or more. This thermostatically controlled wall unit requires no electricity and has no additional accessories. This allows for efficient operation while providing an alternate heat source during power failures. The dual fuel version of this heater allows the professional installer to set up the unit for either propane gas or natural gas. The dual fuel heater comes with an auto fuel detection system to sense which gas is coming into the heater. This heater is also available in single fuel in some markets.
This heater has three infrared ceramic plaques along with a stainless steel front panel, adding to the high end appeal of the heater. The infrared radiant waves heat the objects in the room. This heater meets the latest ANSI standards for vent free operation (ANSI Z21.11.2-2013). A certified technician is required for installation. The warranty is void if the heater is not professionally installed. This heater is not designed to be used as a central heating system. The required room size is based on the room that the heater is installed in. Adjoining rooms cannot be counted towards the minimum square footage needed for this heater. CSA Certified.
Thermostat Control
For efficiency, our wall heater comes with a built-in thermostat. The control has settings 1 (low) through 5 (high) which determine how long the burner will stay on to reach your desired temperature. Please note that all 3 plaques will burn orange until the desired temperature is reached. Our thermostat control causes all the plaques to run at full power to reach the desired temperature faster. For example, setting 1 will cause all 3 plaques to burn for a shorter period of time than setting 5. This is normal operation for our heater.
There is no exact temperature setting on the heater because each room size is different, so you will need to run the heater at a specific setting to determine what temperature the number on the dial gives you for your unique space. The copper bulb located on the back of the heater can be adjusted if needed to provide even better accuracy, although this is not typically needed. Please keep in mind that if the thermostat has reached the temperature of a particular setting, the burner will remain off until the room cools. (For example, setting 2 may only keep the pilot on if the room is warm enough.)
Gas Connection
Our wall heaters have a built in regulator with a 3/8 inch male flare that requires a 3/8 inch female UNF connection to a 1/2 inch gas flex hose. The flex hose should be connected to a MINIMUM ½ inch gas line to ensure proper pressure. You must have a shut off valve installed on the gas line near the heater. Click HERE to purchase a kit that will provide the flex hose, fittings, and shut off valve all in one.
Blower
Traditionally vent free heaters have come with a blower. Our heater design eliminates the need for a blower because we have an enclosed cabinet that pulls the hot air from the infrared plaques and channels it through the top vent at a 45 degree angle. At the same time, infrared plaques emit radiant waves that cannot be enhanced by using a blower. We have found that this is more effective than having a blower and eliminates the need for electricity and moving parts. Our heater cannot be modified to add a blower after purchase.
Floor Mounting & Feet
While other similar products in the market place offer floor stands or “feet” our first priority at Thermablaster is safety. It is our philosophy that placing a WALL HEATER on the floor is not a safe decision and as a result we do NOT offer floor stands. Our wall heaters need 18 inches of clearance from the floor in order to operate properly and draw air through the bottom vent.
**NOT FOR SALE OR USE IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA**
The chart below will help you decide which heater is most appropriate for your application. Having too large of a heater in a too small of a space can cause the Oxygen Depletion Pilot (ODS) to shut off the burner and the pilot due to low oxygen levels.
